Nicknamed The Fish, Real Quiets performance on the racetrack was nothing short of spectacular. A five time Grade 1 winner with Grade 1 wins at 2, 3 and 4, Real Quiet was one of the best, most consistent race horses of recent years. Under the auspices of world-class trainer Bob Baffert, two-year-old Real Quiet won his maiden race at Santa Anita by 3 lengths. He then went on to capture the Grade 1 Hollywood Futurity, defeating eventual Eclipse Champion Artax. His Beyer Speed Figure earned in the Hollywood Futurity was the highest two-year-old Beyer of any Kentucky Derby winner.

Real Quiets three-year-old season showcased his high intensity and racing brilliance. In an outstanding crop of three-year-olds which included Coronados Quest, Victory Gallop, Artax, Grand Slam, Old Trieste, Cape Town, Favorite Trick and Indian Charlie, Real Quiet represented the class of his class. He valiantly overcame the relentless attack of Victory Gallop in the shadow of the twin spires to become the 124th Kentucky Derby winner! He then went on to sail under the wire with 2 1/2 lengths to spare to win the Preakness. At the Belmont Stakes, in front of a crowd of 80,162 cheering fans and millions of viewers worldwide, Real Quiet was denied the final jewel of the Triple Crown by the bob of a head in a photo finish. Just one jump beyond the wire, Real Quiet surged forward and stuck his nose in front of Victory Gallop again. Had the Belmont Stakes been raced at a mile-and-a-half and 11 inches, Champion Real Quiet would be historys 12th Triple Crown winner. His dual classic winning season earned him the Champion 3-Year Old Colt.

As a four-year-old, Real Quiet won the Grade 1 Hollywood Gold Cup, defeating Breeders Cup Classic runner-up and $2.8 million earner, Budroyale. He defeated Grade 1 winners Free House and Precocity while winning the Grade 1 Pimlico Special. Real Quiet retired to stud with career earnings of $3,271,802. Real Quiets pedigree suggests he has every right to be a leading sire.
